Sickening Arab Media

When will the Arab media, journalists, politicians, experts, clerics, etc become decent? When will these people become rational and intelligent? When will they start caring about human life and about the people? I don't know, maybe when the US find life on Mars!

I have seen many disturbing shows on Arabic satellite channels, and this just an example:
As expected, all praised the resistance. All presented the daily terrorist activities as honorable and referred to the present government as a gang of traitors and agents. Operation Lightning, according to them, is solely designed to oppress Iraqis because, again according to them, there are no foreigners operating inside Iraq.
What disturbed me the most, though, was a statement by one of the guests, the editor of a daily Egyptian newspaper: "Killing the police and the national guard is a duty for all Iraqis."
There are even worse shows than this one, and I can't watch these programmes anymore because when I do my blood boils, I start cursing and change the channel. I've got hypertension, you know; and one day, one of these idiots might give me a stroke.

So, give me one good reason why should I trust and or love my "Arab brothers"? And why should I believe in one Arab nation? Or one Muslim nation? My loyalty and love is to Iraq and to hell with the so called "Arab world"!

What is slowly developing and being created in Iraq is very threatening to fundamentalists. They sense the erosion of their power and control. They must have hated it when thousands of Iraqis flashed the purple finger. What a great thing that people can elect officials to represent them and most everyone gets a vote. What a great thing where children go to school to study math, science, literature, computers, etc. and not religious dogma or dictator worship. What a great thing that people can move about freely and speak their minds without being arrested or shot. What a great thing that people can practice the religion of their choice and not be harassed. This is what Iraq is becoming and this is what fundamentlists will not allow in their own lives and their nations. Peace and prosperity will be yours. It is the way of nature and human evolution. 50 years ago in the US, Black people had to ride in the back of a bus and could not even eat with White people in many parts of this nation. Those days are long gone and the days of the jihadists in Iraq are numbered as well. Do not give up hope, do not stop speaking out. God bless Iraq and the Iraqi people.

Clerics and Mullahs etc are supposed to respect human life, since the Qu'ran tells them that human life is the most precious, and here they are advocating death. Why? Why do they get away with this?

Worst yet, why do so many people fall for it?

Is what you're hearing in the media typical of the average Arab? Most Arab-world news outlets are government controlled and all those governments fear a reckoning. Your arab brethren may actually disagree with the propaganda their media is spewing out.

Beautiful words. And you are right, they are afraid of the evil of democracy!

Tell me about it!

Most media is government controlled, and if not then it's controlled by some other agenda! And these governments - and other agendas - are afraid that democracy might knock their doors!

I can say, quite confidently, that many Arabs (not all) have such views. I've heard people call and talk on shows, I met Arabs in London, and I read comments from Arabs, that are sickening.

But I must say that there are Arabs who are sickened by these views too. I just hope that they become the majority and their voices are heard.

Dmeocracy makes stronger allies than ethnic ties.

Just ask the Germans during the Cold War, or the Koreans today.

Oh, and tyrants hate and fear democracy regardless of ethnicity. Again, ask the Koreans and Germans.

These regimes are passing into history and we are watching their last terrible gasp.

Its time for the ENTIRE world to live in freedom and safety and the cruel sophistry of these lunatics to disappear.

Unfortunately, as they say, its always darkest before the dawn.

To answer your last paragraph... I don't know of any reasons!
Do what's good for your country... you owe nothing to "Arabs".
